With the Internet and user-driven web sites flourishing, there has been an increasing demand by editors for shorter, "tighter" writing. Not only is this becoming the wave of the future for web publishing, it also provides the aspiring writer with a challenge that, if exercised, can improve their writing markedly. Add to this the critical evaluation of a knowledgable peer group, and you have: The "WRITING FLASH FICTION GATHER GROUP."
GROUND RULES Aricles must be fiction, 400-500 words, please put word count at bottom You may publish to Gather or any other appropriate group at the time of posting, but articles submitted which have been previously published on Gather.com will not be accepted. After a week or so, you can republish to entire Gather either as it is, or reworked with improvements based on comments (we encouage!) HOW TO PUBLISH When you are publishing an article, and have gone to the "second page" (Article Options), under "Who Can View" simply add our group and any other appropriate group (i.e. do not publish to a poetry group, etc.) Articles are pre-screened based on above criteria, not content. A major goal is to critically evaluate; we look for specific comments that would be expected to improve the writers technique as well as creative talent. PLEASE NOTE... ALL ACTIVITY, POSTING AN ARTICLE, COMMENTING, ETC. EARN GATHER POINTS IN SAME WAY AS GENERAL GATHER ACTIVITY. (Please feel free to email me, Ed Nudelman, if you have any questions, or Charles Lennox, but we ask not to email the entire group; that way our members are not flooded with full inboxes). Thanks so much for joining our Writing Flash Fiction Group.... there is absolutely no prerequisite to join.. just do it! Sincerely, Ed Nudelman Group Tags
